Rules Südtirol Drei Zinnen Alpine Run

What you need to know to participate

The Südtirol Drei Zinnen Alpine Run is an officially registered race of the Italian Athletics Federation FIDAL. A maximum of 1,000 runners who are at least 18 years old can take part. For regulations that are not explicitly mentioned in these rules, the standards of the international FIDAL regulations apply.

  • from 2024.01.01 to 2024.05.31: 77.00 €
  • from 2024.06.01 to 2024.08.31: 87.00 €
  • from 2024.09.01 to 2024.09.07: 97.00 €

From Thursday 2024.09.12 registrations will only be possible locally. No further online registrations will be accepted!

Online registration
You can register and pay comfortly using the online-registration. Payment can be made by credit card, direct debit or bank transfer.
When registering online there is an option of taking out cancellation insurance, this ensures that your start fee is reimbursed if you have to cancel due to illness or accident.

Important notes

  • Registration is only valid after payment of the registration fee.
  • Registration by telephone or e-mail is not possible. Only online entries are accepted.

ATTENTION: Starting places are limited to 1,000 participants!

Modification & cancellation

Any changes are only possible until one week before the race.

Cancellation
If you have taken out cancellation insurance, your start fee will be reimbursed.
If you have not taken out cancellation insurance you can submit a doctor’s note no later than Thursday before the race. In this case the registration fee is not reimbursed, but can be credited for next year.

Re-registration
For a transfer of a start place to another athlete a fee of 25.00 € is charged.

Terms & conditions for participation

The Südtirol Drei Zinnen Alpine Run is an officially notified race recognized by the Italian athletics association FIDAL. It is open to all runners who have their 18th birthday in 2024 and who fulfil one of the following conditions:

Runners from Italy

  • Have to be member of the Italian athletics association FIDAL (membership card with experiation date and doctor’s note must be submitted)
  • Or member of a specialist partner association: USACLI, ACSI, AICS, ASC, ASI, CNS Libertas, CSAIN, CSEN, CSI, ENDAS, MSP ITALIA, OPES, PGS, UISP, CUSI. These runners must also hold a Runcard EPS costing 15.00 € (copy of Runcard with experiation date and doctor’s note must be submitted). Further information at www.runcard.com
  • Hobby athlets have to present a doctor’s note.

We would like to point out that the runcard must be applied for in advance online via www.runcard.com. Late registration on site is not possible.

All documents must be valid on the day of the race and must be sent to the organiser no later than Thursday before the race, either by e-mail to info@dreizinnenlauf.com or by post.

Runners from abroad

We would like to point out that no accident insurance will be taken out for participants. If an athlete does not have his/her own accident insurance, the Runcard Mountain&Trail can be applied for at a price of 10,00€.

We would like to point out that the runcard must be applied for in advance online via www.runcard.com. Late registration on site is not possible.

Rankings are listed in the following categories:

Team ranking
Alongside the individual rankings there is also a team ranking. Participation in this ranking is free of charge. The teams consist of a maximum of 4 and a minimum of 3 runners with the same nationality and can be composed of members from any of the categories (women/men/juniors).
The three fastest runners are included in the ranking, which means the slowest of the 4 runners is discounted. The team ranking is the sum of the running times of the 3 fastest runners in the individual ranking.
The whole team can be registered directly online. Alternatively, teams can be registered on Friday before the race until 9:00 p.m. and on the race day until 8:30 a.m. in the race office.

Combined ranking
There is also a combined ranking for those who register for the Südtirol Drei Zinnen Alpine Run and the Drei Zinnen Ski Raid. The 3 best male and 3 best female runners in the overall ranking in both races receive prize money.

Prize money & prizes

The total prize money for the Südtirol Drei Zinnen Alpine Run is 6,380 €.

The best ten male and the best ten female runners receive cash and non-cash prizes.
The best runners of every category receives non-cash prizes.

Every runner who completes the race receives a finisher medal.

Clothes transport

Clothes transport will be provided from the start area to the finish.

Clothes bag
Since 2019 we use environmentally friendly and reusable garment bags of high quality by Skinfit. These are waterproof backpacks, which will be provided with the appropriate starting number.
All participants will be provided with a corresponding garment bag for a deposit of 30.00 € (cash only). Please note that NO other garment bags will be accepted.
The deposit of 30,00 € must be paid at the start number issuing. The deposit will be refunded on return of the garment bag to the starting area.
Athletes who wish to keep their backpack can bring it with them in the coming years and use it again. The deposit will not be refunded in this case.

Clothes transport will be provided from the start area to the finish.

Timings and program

Start number distribution
Friday before the race: from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Race day: from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.

Clothes bag drop-off
Friday before the race from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the start number distribution
Race day from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. in front of the Haus Sexten (at the Sexten Tourist Office)

Clothes transport to the finish

Spectator shuttle
There is a shuttle for spectators up to the Auronzo hut, although there is still a short distance to walk to get to the finish area (1.5 hours).

Start
Saturday  September 09. 2023, 09:00 am at the Haus Sexten/ near cable car.

Live trasmission

Raceday, from 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Haus Sexten

Deadlines at the refreshment stops

  • Talschlusshütte 10:15 a.m.
  • Zsigmondyhütte 11:45 p.m.
  • Büllelejochhütte 12:30 p.m.

Runners exceeding these deadlines will no longer be classified and can no longer use any of the services (refreshments, hygiene facilities, track marshals, timing, ranking, medals etc.)

Race closes
1:15 p.m.

Return route
Return from Dreizinnenhütte (finish) on foot
Bus transfer from the Hotel Dolomitenhof/Fischleinbodenhütte on the race day from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m.

Showers
The showers are located in the sports facilities “Sport Sexten”, which are not far from the starting area.

Pasta party
On race day from 1.00 p.m. until 5.00 p.m. in the start area

Return clothes bag
On race day from 1.00 p.m. until 5.00 p.m. in the start area

Awards ceremony
Race day: 3:30 p.m.

Timing and chip

The chip (no realtime) will be issued with the race number. No deposit will be charged for the chip and it does not have to be returned.

 

In case of emergency

In case of bad weather conditions the organisers reserve the right to move to a short route (Altensteintal/Val Sasso Vecchio, 11 km and 1,300 m altitude differential) or to an alternative route (Sexten-Helm/Sesto-Monte Elmo, 11.2 km and 750 m altitude differential). In case of dangerous conditions the organisers reserve the right to interrompe the race. In this case there will be no refund of the registration fee or prize money.

Accompanying vehicles and sports equipment

Private accompanying vehicles (motorised and/or non-motorised) and similar are not permitted. The use of aids and sports equipment (in particular poles) is not permitted.

Insurance and liability

The organiser cannot be held responsbile for any loss, injury or damage to people or items, however caused. There shall be no liability for lost items. The place of jurisdiction is Bruneck/Brunico, Italy. In the event of participation in the 27th Südtirol Drei Zinnen Alpine Run 2024, the athlet shall recognise the nonliability of the organiser for damages of any kind. The athlet shall not make claims for damage or injury of any kind against the organisers and sponsors of the 27th Südtirol Drei Zinnen Alpine Run 2024, nor against the relevant municipalities, landowners or their representatives.
The athlet agrees that the registration data, photos and film footage of himself/herself, as well as interviews, obtained in connection with the 27th Südtirol Drei Zinnen Alpine Run 2024 can be used on the radio, on television, for advertising, in books, reprography, films, etc. without claim for remuneration on his/her part. By registering, the athlet accepts the processing of the data in accordance with the applicable privacy policy.

Disqualification

The Südtirol Drei Zinnen Alpine Run places a high value on fairness! Disqualifications will be issued in the case of false personal information (name, date of birth) and for unsporting actions (such as avoidance of the time recording posts, shortcuts, support, use of aids, disregard of official instructions and doping). Passing personal start numbers to another person without following the official re-registration process is also not permitted.

 

Reclaims

Reclaims regarding disqualifications must be submitted in writing within 1 hour after the official end of the race.
In the first instance, they must be presented verbally to the referee during the race, the written complaints must be submitted to the Organizational Secretariat within 30 minutes of publication of the results, together with the fee of 100.00 €.

Signature

By sending the registration form the participant declares:

  • to be in possession of the appropriate medical certificate as provided by the ministerial decree of 18/02/82. Failure to have such will lead to immediate disqualification. The Organisation also takes no responsibility for accidents or illness.
  • to have a valid member card if part of a Club or Federation
  • to have read the present Regulation

The athlete gives his consent for the processing of personal data concerning the applicable privacy statement.
