What you need to know to participate

The Drei Zinnen Winter Night Run is an officially registered race with the Italian Athletics Federation (FIDAL). A maximum of 200 runners aged 18 and over can participate. For regulations not explicitly mentioned here, the international FIDAL rules apply.

Registration

Registration deadline
Wednesday, 25 February 2026 at 8:00 PM

Registration period and fees
Registration opens on 1 June 2025.
Tiered pricing:

  • 001–050: €30.00
  • 051–100: €35.00
  • 101–200: €40.00

After Wednesday, 25 February 2026 (8:00 PM), only on-site late registration will be possible. Registration via E-Mail will not be accepted.

Online registration
Registration and payment can be done easily through the online portal. Payment options include credit card, SEPA direct debit, or bank transfer. Participants can also purchase cancellation insurance, which allows for a refund of the registration fee in case of illness or accident.

Important notes

  • Registration is only valid after payment of the registration fee.
  • Phone or email registrations are not possible.

ATTENTION: The number of starting places is limited to 400 participants!

Changes / cancellation

Changes of any kind are possible only up to one week before the race.

Cancellation
Participants with cancellation insurance will receive a refund from the insurance provider.
Participants without insurance can submit a medical certificate by the Wednesday before the race. In this case, the fee will not be refunded but may be credited for the following year.

Transfer of registration
A fee of €15.00 will be charged for transferring the bib number to another athlete.

Participation requirements

COMPETITIVE ATHLETES
Italian participants must either:
Be a member of the Italian Athletics Federation (FIDAL) with a valid membership card and sports medical certificate.

OR

Be a member of a federation affiliated with FIDAL (e.g. USACLI, ACSI, etc.) and possess a valid Runcard EPS (€15.00) or Runcard Mountain&Trail (€10.00), along with a medical certificate.
Recreational runners who do not belong to any federation must present a valid Runcard and medical certificate. Note: The Runcard must be obtained in advance at www.runcard.com. On-site registration is not possible.

All documents must be valid on race day and submitted to the organizer by Thursday before the race via email info@dreizinnenlauf.com or post.

 

Foreign participants
Foreign participants must be a member of a club affiliated with World Athletics and present a self-declaration form.

OR

Provide a valid medical certificate if not affiliated with any club.

Participants are not automatically covered by accident insurance. If needed, the Runcard Mountain&Trail (€10.00) can be purchased for coverage. The Runcard must be obtained in advance at www.runcard.com. On-site registration is not possible.

NON-COMPETITIVE ATHLETES (JUST FOR FUN)
This category is not a competition. Timing will be recorded, but results will be listed alphabetically. There are no rankings or awards. No medical certificate or minimum age is required.

Start and finish for all categories are located on the cross-country trail next to Hotel Waldheim.
Parking is available nearby.

The “Just for Fun” run starts directly from the event area after the main race begins at 6:00 PM.

Arrival

The event area is easily accessible via public transport. Private transportation is discouraged.

Race Start
Friday, 28 February 2026 at 6:00 PM at Hotel Waldheim (cross-country trail)

Finish Line Closes
8:30 PM

Showers
Available at “Sport Sexten” facility near the start area

Pasta Party
Race day, 7:00 – 9:30 PM at Haus Sexten.

Award Ceremony
Race day, 9:00 PM at Haus Sexten.

Timing & chip

Chips (not real-time) are distributed with the bib number. No deposit is required, and chips do not need to be returned.

Emergencies

The organizer reserves the right to cancel or interrupt the race in case of bad weather or dangerous conditions. No refunds will be issued in such cases.

Support vehicles & equipment

Private support vehicles and equipment (e.g., poles) are not allowed.

Insurance & liability

The organizer accepts no liability for lost items, injury, or damage. By registering, participants accept this liability waiver and agree to the use of photos/videos taken during the event without compensation. Jurisdiction: Brunico/Bruneck.

Disqualification

Fairness is essential! Disqualification occurs in cases of false data, unsportsmanlike conduct, skipping time checkpoints, shortcuts, unauthorized assistance, and doping. Passing on one’s bib number without official transfer is prohibited.

Complaints

Complaints must be submitted in writing within one hour of the official finish. FIDAL and R.T.I. guidelines apply. A €100.00 fee is required with the formal written complaint.

By registering, the participant:

  • Declares to have a valid medical certificate (according to the Ministerial Decree of 18.02.82)
  • Accepts all rules and liability terms
  • Agrees to data processing according to privacy policies
